Pamporovo is an excellent shi resort and has been named as the most family friendly ski resort in Europe. It is close to the old Roman town of Plovdiv and has excellent communications facilities. Pamporovo is a lot less crowded than Bansko and is ripe for further devolopment. The local authorities view this as a good opportunity yet they are taking care that any development does not destry the charm of the area.
