The Strandzha mountains are a hidden gem in Bulgaria's south-eastern corner. Covered with oak and beech forests they are is only ten kilometers from the sea. An ideal area for a rural retreat with all the advantages of a coastal resort without the noise or the hassle. Leisure activities including hunting (wild boar in particular) and fishing. For the less energetic or bloodthirsty this is an area rich in wildlife and on one of the main migratory flight paths for birds between Asia and Africa and Europe. Istanbul is 300 kilometres away and there is also access to the Aegean. One of the last great unspoilt areas of Europe.
